The Castle Inn: Growing and Expanding!

With the holiday slowly drifting away, I've got my hands full with even more projects than before! I am still not complaining ~ as a matter of fact, I feel so very blessed. Since the opening of my art space (thanks again, Renee :-), my work has gotten some really wonderful recognition and it has opened doors to other various projects that I am currently working on.  So here commences another venture into a dream come true of creating and displaying said creations. I will be occupying a large space coming into the new year (2011) and expanding my body of work from the Neo-Folk and Artisan Jewelry into furnishings with my main focus on working with discarded or broken pieces, breathing new life into the pieces. Here's a little sneak peek of the Historic Castle Inn. As soon as the space is up and ready more pictures will follow....and remember, if you are ever in the Delaware Water Gap area, come by and say hello and take a look see :-)

THE SOUL WEEPERS

I haven't abandoned my love of painting and in between jewelry making, I have managed to create these two new pieces which I call "SOUL WEEPERS".

It took me a while to finish the pair only because I really take my time when I paint.  That is also why I am not able to consistently list on Ebay and Etsy which is where I typically sell my paintings, because I can never produce several pieces all at once.  That's just me.

Anyway, I thought i'd do another collage piece with a little bit of mosaic work for accent.  The pieces have a very raw, rustic feel.  Made with different weights of acrylic, pencils, pastels and ink on on wood panel.  I created a wood frame backing so it can be display ready.

COMING UP ROSES...

As I have previously mentioned, ever since the opening of my Castle Inn art space, some wonderful opportunities have come up and I am very excited to share the news that I have been offered to do a men's line of wearable art!  This really came out of the blue and I have to admit, it presents a little bit of a challenge, but just a teeny bit, since several of my wearable assemblage pieces have been designed in a non-gender-specific fashion and I have always aimed for a universal style when designing jewelry.  But my client, Zen Safari, has its own very unique vision and style and I hope and will strive to achieve, project and translate their very own brand into these new pieces.  Check it out...note that these are work-in-progress...(artwork used in the background was made by yours truly)
